Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there’s always a pastel around at this time of year. The key is working out how to wear it to flatter your own coloring.
Lights: this is your territory and you look amazing in pastel pinks, greens, yellows and blues. Team with one of your lighter neutrals such as stone.
Deeps: you will no doubt find that pastels worn on their own, wash you out. Add a little oomph to your look with the addition of a deeper shade such as charcoal or navy.
Warms: stay away from the cooler pastel blues and pinks. Instead try pastel yellow and team with aqua for an interesting combination.
Cools: cooler pastels work on you. The key is to add contrast to balance out your look. Try pastel pink with fuchsia or teal.
Clears: you too need to add contrast to pastels. Tap into your jewel tones such as sapphire and emerald green.
Softs: mint is a fabulous pastel and teamed with pewter for a tone-on-tone look is perfect.
